Idawire Stud dogs

All of our stud dogs have spent hundreds of hours hunting with Tom in the midwest and western states. They have proven themselves to be outstanding hunting dogs. They have also proven themselves in the show ring by completing their show championships in tough competition, including specialty wins. These boys are also loving family dogs, content to sleep on the bed or lay on the couch with us when we're at home.

Our males are available to bitches who have completed their health testing. Contact us for more information.

Idawire Oppenheimer "Opie"

Sire: Ch Cynister Idawire FN2187
Dam: Ch Idawire Craftsman Jingle All the Way

Opie had a short, but amazing show career--he finished his show championship with 5 majors, including 3 specialty majors! He has a great coat, nice bone and clean, balanced movement. He's got a rock-solid temperament and absolutely nothing fazes him!

This boy loves the water and has a very stylish point, and is showing nice independence in the field for his age. We are looking forward to seeing what he'll do when we start running him in juvenile field trial stakes.

DOB: 11/26/24

OFA: Too Young

Available "frozen" only

We don't currently have any stud dogs for "live" breedings. But we have frozen semen available for breeding. These four stud dogs were outstanding producers, and we have frozen semen available for approved bitches. If you are interested in breeding to any of these males, please contact us to find out if your bitch meets our requirements.

Ralphie has a lot of natural ability in the field--he has a good nose and a lot of drive and desire to find birds. Ralphie is a dog any foot hunter would like to hunt behind. He has plenty of run, but handles great. Most of my hunting trips with Ralphie I don't even have to handle him as he just goes with me without me making a sound. Ralphie has lots of point, and will hold point for as long as it takes me to get to him. He also loves the water. He has a nice, harsh, wirey coat and good conformation. Ralphie won the 2012 GWPCA National Puppy Stake at the GWPCA National field trial. Ralphie finished his show championship with 4 major wins, including a 4-point major (over specials!) and a 5-point major. Ralphie finished his field championship to become a Dual Champion, and then finished his Amateur Field Championship. He is now retired from field trials, but may work on his Master Hunter title this winter.

Ralphie produces high-drive pups with a lot of style in the field.

We were impressed with Hoover almost from the very start. He LOVED the water, and was a natural retriever. He was a hard charger and had lots of power on land and in the water.

Hoover had the sweetest disposition--so easy going and eager to please, and consistently passed his temperament to his offspring. He had a short, low-maintenance coat, and did us proud by going Winners Dog at his first dog show--the Twin Cities GWP Specialty. Shown only 3 weekends, Hoover finished his show championship at the GWP club of E. Nebraska Specialty with a 5-point major! The 2013 GWPCA National was the first field trial Hoover ever competed in, and he won against over twenty of the best young GWPs in the country. Hoover had multiple field-trial placements, including placing 3rd in the 2016 GWPCA National Amateur Field Championship!

Hoover produces very nice pups, consistently passing on his high-drive in the field and his easy-going disposition.

Walter was a handsome young dog who finished his show championship winning in tough competition on Specialty and National Specialty weekends. He had a great temperament, with a calm, easy demeanor and he got along well with everyone.

He had a good nose and a stylish point in the field.

Walter produces very nice pups that have been great foot-hunting dogs with good conformation and sweet temperaments.

Cruiser was a remarkable dog who was extremely accomplished in both the show ring and in the field. One of the only GWP to have received a top award at the National Specialty, and then earn a placement in one of the GWPCA National Championships the following week (his sire, Topper was another dog to accomplish this feat). Cruiser was the first GWP who was a Dual Champion to win an all-breed Best in Show. And, he was a great hunting dog and family dog. You can find out more about Cruiser at Our Foundation page
